Draperies Provide Balance

Most everyone enjoys having some type of curtain at the window. However, most people don’t put much thought or interest into the project due to time constraints and convenience. If you are about to move into a new home or if you are redecorating a room, you might want to take a bit more time in considering what you should put at the window.

For instance, draperies and top treatments are what provide your home with character and the proper balance of color and textures. If all of your walls are very basic in color, such as the typical off-white provided by most builders, then all of your color is now centered around your furniture. When choosing your draperies, make sure you pick fabrics and patterns that will bring all of your colors together. Don’t hesitate to use coordinating fabrics of flora, stripes or even plaids. These types of patterns will blend all of the colors of your walls, furniture and flooring to bring a nice balance to each area. Draperies will also bring a balance to over-sized rooms that seem so high or open that they just echo. The colors and textures of the draperies will give your room a warmer look and bring it back to a more normal looking size.
